Do arrive a little early -- unless your lifelong dream is a dramatic entrance halfway through the vows.
until we say "I do"

We met in April 2018 at Ashesi. Joel was walking to the car park with a mutual friend when they came across Sagua, seated nearby and stressing about something -- an activity that, those who know her would agree, remains one of her favourite pastimes.
One introduction turned into an hour-long conversation. Then another. Before long, these talks became a regular occurrence. There was just one problem: Joel never asked for Sagua's number. So, growing gloriously impatient, she simply got his herself.
Nearly eight years later, she still insists this decisive act deserves full credit for the entire relationship.

Joel planned a proposal that was equal parts thoughtful, nostalgic and unforgettable -- a hand-drawn collage of our favourite memories, printed Polaroids, and a journey revisiting the places that had become special to us, each narrated aloud as we arrived.
The final stop, "The Beginning of Forever," led to a getaway in Aburi where roses waited and our closest friends were quietly gathered nearby. In the garden, Joel spoke of the future he hoped to build -- and then, with impeccable posture and a remarkably straight back, went down on one knee.
"Despite suspecting it was coming, Sagua was still in tears. She said yes."
